Disclaimer: I was recently invited to attend Ecotools 10 years anniversary celebration event in Sydney and I was lucky enough to receive some Ecotools goodies including the blending duo. However I have used the blending duo a few weeks before I attended the event. All opinions are my own.
Ecotools perfecting blender duo have quickly become my favourite way to apply foundations and concealers! I used to love using brushes for this type of tasks; however I love natural finish more than ever complexion wise, blending sponge seems the way to go. I have been using the bigger Ecotools sponge nonstop since I bought it. It is soft with some kind of weight in it. It is ideal to apply foundations and concealers when you do not like to cake on and feel heavy on the skin. The sponge gets double in size after it gets wet, and it’s very bouncy (don’t like sponges that are too squishy, and some of them make me feel that it can never get rid of the excessive water). It has two flat sides and a round bottom, it blends out foundation and concealers effortlessly, can apply powder to bake/set makeup or clean out the line under contour to make cheekbones more chiselled. Similar to other beauty blending sponges such as OG beauty blender, and Real Techniques miracle blending sponge, it also helps sheer out heavy matte foundations that can make face look cakey (comparing with using a foundation brush).
One thing I have to say: it’s less durable than the OG beauty blender, it shows signs of tear and wear after a few washes.
I haven’t used the small one yet however I imagine that it would suit under eye areas or those areas that are hard to reach. I do think that the bigger one is more versatile and make application faster.
I bought mine from Prcieline; it retails $19.95, and you can also purchase this from iHerb at $13.95 (excludes shipping).
