A couple of weeks ago I finally gave in to Colourpop pressed single eyeshadows taking advantages of their free international shipping deal for anything above $50.00. To make the $50 mark, I also ordered two of their lipsticks in new formulas: ultra-blotted lip and blotted lip. (I thought they were called BOTTLED lip for some reason and was so confused as to why it’s called bottled lip, it DOES NOT make any sense, lol).
“Ultra Blotted Lip A medium coverage matte lipstick that creates a soft, diffused look. It is completely transfer-proof and long-wearing but also lightweight and comfortable. No cracking or flaking! Leaves lips smooth and fresh.
Finish Sheer Matte
Net Weight 3.0g (0.10oz)
Apply your Ultra Blotted Lip in a thin layer for most comfortable wear.
TIPS: To intensify your look, line your lips with a matching Lippie Pencil, this will help you achieve the perfect finished look and it will also give the appearance of fuller lips.”
The shade: Doozy
Like the product name suggested, blotted lip, it looks like that my lips were blotted with powder (with tissue on top) after applying the lipstick. It’s mousy formula that reminds me NYX lip lingerie and their soft matte lip crèmes.
The shade doozy is a coral red and extremely wearable. It is quick to dry and won’t budge after it is dried on the lips (transfer free). I was surprised that this ultra-blotted lip is not as pigmented as I thought however I think it matches the name of the product pretty well. It is to achieve that blotted lip effect rather than a full-on liquid lipstick. The shade lasted more than five hours on me (just drinking water), feels a bit dry when it’s first applied however feel quite comfortable the rest of the time. It dries matte and it’s easy to get it off at the end of the day.
“Blotted Lip Sheer matte lipstick that creates the perfect popsicle pout! Formula is lightweight, matte and buildable for light to medium coverage.
Finish Sheer Matte
Net Weight 1.0g (0.035oz)
Apply blotted lip like a lipstick, no need to blot. Build to desired intensity.”
The shade: Bee’s knees
It is a fuchsia shade, more out there however can be worn on a working day because it’s stain like on the lips. It’s not as smooth when applying on the lips. It’s not necessarily dragging on the lips but I prefer to tap it onto lips in three sections and connect the dots. After applying, it’s mostly transfer free (however I can see tiny bit stain on the back of my hand). This shade is also long lasting (more than 5 hours on me) and feel comfortable on the lips.
Both of the shades are easy to get off, do not stain lips.
Are you a fan of these two new formulas and what are your favourite shades? I would love to hear your thoughts and recommendation.
