How is that, I just realised that I haven’t posted anything on my blog for nearly three months! Life has been busy with a 20 months old daughter, full time work and concentrating on growing my Instagram account. I sure have missed blogging, however I need better time management skill, stop being laaaaaazy and focus more on the blogging as sometime I find that I don’t even remember what I think of a product or how it looks on me as I didn’t document it in writing.
Now onto today’s post. Actually I have written this one three months ago, however never got around to take a swatch picture for the product.
MAC extra dimension skinfinish formula now features four permanent shades. It came out last year as MAC’s in the spotlight collection.
Double Gleam is a highlighter that attracted me the most when I swatched it at the back of my hand.
Generally, I love highlighters that give a beautiful sheen or glow, do not accentuate natural skin texture and are without chunk of glitters/sparkles.
Double gleam is a white gold with fine shimmer (it does not translate as sparkles on the face, just noticeable sheen/glow when there is light, so don’t worry!). I can easily pick up the product with a fan brush, it provides good colour payoff and it’s easy to blend it out on the skin, In my opinion, it is natural looking enough that I can apply it to all the face areas that I suppose to highlight. It can also be built up to its full potential. It lasts more than 12 hours on my cheekbones and slightly emphasize my natural skin texture when a couple of layers are packed on.
I had compared Double Gleam with a few cult favourite highlighters The balm Mary Lou Manizer, MAC lightscapde, Laura Mercier highlight 01, Becca moonstone, while they have similar undertone, it is quite different colour wise.
