If I am going for a winged eyeliner look, I usually go with black liners as they define my eyes a lot better. If I want to look natural yet defined, I would opt for a brown liner. From my fair share of trailing liquid eyeliners, gel liners and pencil eyeliners, I find that gel liners usually win the battle as being long lasting, smudge proof and water resistant.
Claims: FINALLY! the FIRST EVER lash-hugging gel liner pen! The custom AccuFlex soft, angled tip makes it BEYOND EASY to get close to your lashline for bigger, sexier eyes in seconds. It’s matte black and doesn’t smudge, budge or dry out. The closer the line, the bigger the eye!
I was intrigued by the idea of having gel liner in a pen form because I am an absolute fan of liquid liners with felt-tip. I truly hoped that my dream of having the convenience of a liquid liner and the lasting power of a gel liner in ONE might have finally come true, and that my cat flicks will not be ruined anymore because of my sensitive eyes that go watery very easily.
Right off the bat, I know I would not like the slanted applicator which is made of rubber. In order to apply the product, I need to twist the end of the liner; often the gel coming out are way too much, I always have to wipe off a significant amount before I could apply it to my eyes. Also, the lines and flicks created are too thick for my liking. To stop the gel drying out fast, there is an orange stopper at the tip of the applicator (thoughtful) however, it is very messy when I try to remove it each time- the gel goes everywhere on my hands(Ugh, it is a bit frustrating when I am really in rush in the morning.)
Tips: use a separate eyeliner brush, twist the gel onto a mixing palette and do your winged eyeliners as usual from there.
Now let’s go onto the benefit of the liner:
. it lasts all day long
. it does not smudge
. since it’s brown, it looks really natural on the eyes
. it is water resistant compares to liquid or pencil liners
Verdict: I probably will not purchase again in the near future and I will continue to look for a liner that does all the tricks however; with much easier application.
Have you tried this? And what are your thoughts and tips?
