Hello there, I am back with another post today. Wait, two posts in three days? I know I know, I have been slack on posting new contents on my blog. I was looking back my previous posts and was shocked that I have been so LAZY. I remember that one of my new year resolution is to test more products and post more often, so fingers crossed I’ll do what I promised from this day forward.
Now without further ado, I would like to share with you my thoughts on six mascaras that I have used up recently.
1. Loreal Paris Voluminous carbon black(waterproof)
This mascara was really famous for a while on You Tube. With so many good reviews and raves, I had to try it for myself. On a scale of 1 – 5, I give this mascara a total 4, given it holds my curls all day long, lengthen it and does not smudge. However, it did nothing for volumisizing my lashes -how odd, and it made them look clumpy after two coats. It has a typical mascara wand with natural bristles. FYI: I bought this mascara off eBay as it is not available in store in Australia.
2. Maybelline great lash (waterproof)
It does pretty much the same thing as Loreal Paris Voluminous carbon black mascara despite their wands are different. This mascara is good for lower lashes as the wand is skinnier; be carefully though as the formula is quite wet and since my lower lashes are so close to my skin and so thin it would transfer onto my skin. Do not worry though, after it dries it would not smudge throughout the day. All you have to do is to wait until the excess mascara dries and use a cotton bud to flake it off your skin.
3. Covergirl clump crusher by lashblast (not waterproof or water-resistant)
I did a full review on this baby, and it is my favorite non-waterproof of all time. I have already repurchased it and will keep using it until there is no tomorrow!
Now these two mascaras mentioned below are regret buys since they did nothing for my lashes.
4. Maybelline define a lash
I was on the hunt for a good non-waterproof mascara that I could use on a daily basis after my lovely encounter with Covergirl clump crusher by lashblast. With a weird soft, skinny, and wobbly rubber wand, I had a hard time applying this onto my lashes. I thought with its skinny wand it might work wonder on my lower lashes, I was wrong. I was quite disappointed by this mascara as it did nothing for my lashes, absolutely nothing 🙁
5. Covergirl full lash bloom
I had high hope for this one since it is from Covergirl. Again, it disappointed me. I guess due to it is non-waterproof it did not hold my curl at all, but make them droop. Also it smudges on my lower lids which it is a big no no in my book. The wand of this mascara is a chubby rubber one.
6. Tarte Light Camera Lahses 4 in 1 (non-waterproof)
I got this baby version of Tarte Light Camera Lahses 4 in 1 mascara from Tarte Ladies Who Lash Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler set 2014. It is a great mascara as it volumizes, lengthens and darken my lashes (it makes me lashes look ultra black). Unfortunately, as it is not waterproof it does not hold my curls. I use this mascara on top of another mascara (which hold my curls) to add drama to my lashes. I look forward to use my waterproof version as this may become my dream mascara if it holds my curls as well.
Have you tried any of these mascaras? What are your thoughts?
Thanks for reading.
