Hi everyone, today’s post is all about my skin care. Since pregnancy, my skin becomes drier than usual and lots of pimples popping out of nowhere (even on my neck). I stopped applying makeup for a good eight months and focused on skin care so that my skin can breathe and recover.
I am not a believer in a particular skin care brand(I do use a lot of Shishido products though, more suitable for Asain skin type); however I do believe that skin care products can delay skin aging, keep skin moisturised, act as sun protector and make skin look less dull.
Products included in my daily skin care routine are (step by step):
1. face cleanser
to clean my skin, keep my face away from dirt, oil and pollutants
2. face toner
to further clean my skin and to keep my face hydrated
3. skin correction serum
I don’t use serum often, however, I got a few sample sized products to try out(it can be expensive to purchase) to see if it would penetrate into my skin than normal facial moisturiser and correct my dull skin from within. Unfortunately, so far no verdict yet.
4. sun screen with high SPF and PA value
A must-have to protect my skin from the sun/strong UV and from getting more freckles. I really enjoy the Shiseido Anessa whitening UV protector (SPF 32-PA+++) and have bought another bottle on stand by, and most importantly, it’s fragrance free (what I’m looking for as I’m sensitive to smell since pregnancy)
5. eye cream
I have been using eye creams since in my early 20s. To be honest, I don’t see dramatic changes after using eye creams, however, they do keep my undereye moisturized, somewhat delayed aging such as growing wrinkles and it’s a great base before I apply any kind of under eye concealers.
Another must have product in my skin care routine. I prefer lotion than cream as I have normal to combination skin. I like light weighted, oil free moisturiser that keep my face moisturised and away from dry patches(especially my nose area, even though I have oily T zone).
I like to mix this kind of products with my moisturiser to brighten my skin tone and to add glow to my skin. I do not however apply it over my T zone area so that I can avoid shine throughout the day.
On a side note, I do use face scrub and masks from time to time, however, I am not too keen on these two beauty items. Probably because I have not been persistent in using them so I would not know the benefits(I am lazy gal and often forget that I have them in my stash).
Please leave your comments below about how you feel about skin care and do you think face scrub and masks really work. Would love to hear from you.
Thanks for reading.
