Hi dear everyone, today’s post is about mascaras that I am currently using and my thoughts on their performance. Before I dive into the topic, I would like to thank Heidi from www.eatmycrayons.wordpress.com for nominating for the Liebster Award the other day.
For your reference, my eye lashes are relatively long but stubborn straight! Therefore, rule No.1 in my beauty book is: a good mascara has to hold curls all day – up sky high without drooping. To prevent eye lashes dropping, I usually choose a waterproof mascara with relatively dry formula.
During my journey of looking for the best mascara, I found that not all waterproof mascaras can hold curls, and not one mascara can help achieve my three goals at one time, that is, curling, volumising and lengthening, so I normally use two mascaras to get what I wish to achieve.
Now let’s talk about my experience in the mascaras I am currently using.
1. Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Express Waterproof in black
Thoughts: It gives the most natural looking eye lashes. Though the formula of the mascara is relatively wet, I absolutely love how it keeps my lashes curled all day. It has a rather fat and strange wand that is unbelievably soft and it’s so wonky and makes me feel that my lashes have no bases to rely upon.
2. Max Factor Clumpy Defy
Thoughts: This mascara has become one of my go-to mascaras. I think because of the thin curved rubber wand, it defines, separates, volumises and lengthens my both my upper and bottom lashes, though it won’t hold my curls as it not waterproof. However, I would not say this mascara gives the most voluminous and full effect.
3. Physicians Formula Organic Wear
Thoughts: It has a fat rubber wand with fibers that adds volume and separates my lashes, but it does not hold curls at all.
Thoughts: I did a full blog post on this mascara before and at that time I thought I have found my go-to mascara for my bottom lashes. However, due to its wet formula, it clumps my eyelashes if I don’t get rid of those excesses. Now I only use it on my upper lashes because it does give me a fuller looking lashes.
5. Almay One-Coat Thickening Waterproof
Thoughts: it is a regret buy, as it does not do anything for my lashes except of darkening them a bit.
Other than those points mentioned above, I would like to add that none of these mascaras flake off or smudge and they are pretty easy to remove at the end of the day.
Have you tried any of these mascaras? What are your experience with them? Please feel free to comment below.
Thanks for reading.
