Chi Chi Cosmetics is an Australian brand that was founded by George Lambropoulos and Frank Nassiokas in 1997 (info sourced from Chi Chi official website). The brand can be located from Priceline, Target and Departmental store Myer. I have never paid any attention to Chi Chi until I started putting my heart into the fabulous, wonderful makeup world. Also because this is a brand that is well loved by You Tube beauty guru Shannon Harris (YouTube username Shaaanxo) from New Zealand, I started to buy products from Chi Chi Cosmetics.
For those of you who are not living in Australia, Chi Chi also ship internationally, please consult with their website for more info if you are interested to purchase some to try (I am not an affiliate or being paid to write this post).
Last Saturday, I took the advantage of 30% sale at Target and bought a few products including foundation, eyeliners and lipsticks.
I normally wouldn’t buy foundation to try it out unless I read absolute favorable reviews for my skin type which is normal to combination and oily at T-zone. Since I watched one of Shannon’s video recently, I decided to give this foundation a try.
Packaging: Matte finish Glass bottle with a pump
Price: AU$29.95(most beauty products in Australia are not as affordable as in the US)
Shade selection: total of ten shades and I like that it tells you which shade suits for your skin tone on the packaging. Shade 1 Ivory suits me perfectly and it’s a very similar shade like Covergirl’s Outlast Stay Fabulous 3in1 foundation shade 825 Buff Beige.
Texture: it’s not runny, nor it’s thick.
Blendability: very easy to blend and it gives you time to buff it into the skin
Finish: matte, powdery finish. It does not look caky at all and it’s light weight on the face as it claimed. My skin looks real and flawless.
Coverage: medium but can be built up to full, however, I still needed concealers to cover up my dark under eye circles (I blame my very dark circles rather than the foundation’s covering power)
Lasting power: I wore this foundation from 8am in the morning and wore it through the day without touch-up using powder(not my usual routine anyway). It did not feel or look oily and stayed put on my face until at least 5pm in the afternoon.
Overall, this foundation performs very well on my normal to combination skin(it may shows dry patches on dry skins as I had dry hand on Saturday, it did accentuate the dryness),and it might become one of my favorite drug store foundations(I will come back with an update after a little while).
Have you tried this foundation before? What do you think of it? Please leave your comments below.
Hope you enjoyed my review.
