Hi my dear readers! Hope all are good with everyone. As usual, I got up 6:30am to get ready for work. Getting into winter in Sydney, it’s harder and harder to get up in the morning when it is still dark outside.
Firstly, I wish to quote the writing on Napoleon Perdis USA website regarding one of their nail polish line “For any Prepster, good grooming is imperative, and regular manicures are a must! Nails are short and polished.”
Though I am not a Prepster, I have been keeping my nails short and groomed always since I was five years old. The reason behind is that I play the piano and having long nails is not an option! However, I had always thought that my nails are too short to put nail polish on and it would not look as elegant, beautiful and chic as those ladies with well-groomed long nails. Besides, I had no idea how to put nail polishes on my fingernails (disastrous each time), I am ok to paint my toe nails though, Bizarre!
Somehow, soon after my engagement with my now husband, I suddenly felt an urge to do my own makeup and nails on my wedding day. (I guess I was going to save our budget and you probably know how expensive the wedding can be these days, haha.) Dang dang dang dang – my journey of constantly purchasing beauty products, learning and perfecting makeup skills BEGAN!(I admit, practice makes it perfect. I now can confidently paint my fingernails.
How did I go? That’s what I am saying “short nails” 🙁
Alright, enough of me Blabbing, Now, let’s talk about my favourite nail products.
Below are the list of brands that I buy and love using (in alphabetical orders):
Essie – can be accessed in my local store such as Priceline and Myer, though the colour range in my local is small and with some of the lighter shades, more coats are needed if you want more vivid colours.
Lioele Cosmetics – can be purchased online such as keautystore.com (it ships worldwide). Love the quality, easy to apply, and nice colour selection.
O.P.I – can be accessed in my local store, a bit pricy howeve it’s a solid brand with various shades/collections to choose. It’s thick but smooth, easy to apply, usually last for 6-7 days once applied.
Revlon – can be accessed in my local store, shade selection is good. Easy to apply and I like the brush.
Sally Hansen – I mainly buy there top coats, it dries my nails much faster and keep my nails last longer.
Side note: I do own other brands, but I only have only one or two each from those brands. I am intending to buy more since I feel there is never enough nail polish in your life, it lightens my day and makes me happy (what’s more could I ask!). I will do reviews to my nail polish collections in future posts. Stay tuned : )
A few of my favorite nail polishes.
Thanks for reading.
